Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity

Credit Risk Management maintains the Moneris SMB merchant portfolio within risk appetite regarding merchant Credit risk. You will ensure Moneris delivers on its SMB merchant underwriting (origination) due diligence program. This includes underwriting following Moneris’s enterprise risk sensitivity that balances merchant experience and credit risk.

You will work with Moneris company partners, customers such as Sales, and Product teams to collaborate on managing credit risk, customer experience, and business growth/distribution.

Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid schedule.

Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Credit - SMB.

Your Moneris Career - What you'll do

• Apply appropriate underwriting criteria to all merchant applications following established credit policy to ensure financial risk is avoided.
• Post-review of merchants who need a line increase or are flagged by fraud process (re-adjudication), specifically in processing volume level or average transaction size.
• Perform a credit risk assessment of an existing high-risk merchant, including understanding the business profile to ensure compliance with credit, fraud, card association regulation, and legal matters.
• Analyze personal, business, and financial information.
• Work with internal staff and external sources for credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.
• Assist with customer calls for complex merchant set-ups requiring explanation of specific credit policies and decisions related to those policies.
• Collaborate with Moneris Fraud Group to monitor the activity of selected High-Risk Merchants.
• Provide backup and support to other Analysts concerning the SMB Credit process, special projects, vacation relief, and peak volume times.

Your Moneris Career - What you bring

• Up to 3 years of experience in a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Finance.
• Experience reviewing personal credit bureaus, commercial credit bureaus, or financial statements.
• Previous experience in the payment industry is an asset.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows/Applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
