A leading company in the payment industry is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst to manage SMB merchant credit risk. The role involves underwriting assessments, collaborating with sales and product teams, and ensuring compliance with credit regulations. Your Moneris Career - The Opportunity
Credit Risk Management maintains the Moneris SMB merchant portfolio within risk appetite regarding merchant Credit risk. You will ensure Moneris delivers on its SMB merchant underwriting (origination) due diligence program. This includes underwriting following Moneris’s enterprise risk sensitivity that balances merchant experience and credit risk.
You will work with Moneris company partners and customers such as Sales and Product teams to collaborate on managing credit risk, customer experience, and business growth/distribution.
Location: You will be based in our Toronto office and will work in a hybrid schedule.
Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Manager, Credit - SMB.
Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
You will perform various forms of credit-based analysis on prospective and existing merchants and provide customer service on all credit-related issues.
Apply appropriate underwriting criteria to all merchant applications following established credit policies to ensure financial risk is minimized.
Conduct post-review of merchants needing a line increase or flagged by fraud processes, especially concerning processing volume or transaction size.
Perform credit risk assessments of high-risk merchants, including understanding their business profile to ensure compliance with credit, fraud, card association regulations, and legal matters.
Analyze personal, business, and financial information.
Collaborate with internal staff and external sources for credit training, fraud detection, and monitoring activities.
Assist with complex merchant setups requiring explanations of specific credit policies and decisions.
Work with Moneris Fraud Group to monitor activity of high-risk merchants.
Provide backup and support to other analysts concerning SMB credit processes, special projects, vacation relief, and peak volume periods.

Up to 3 years of relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business, Accounting, or Finance
Equivalent work experience may be considered
Experience reviewing credit reports and financial statements
Experience in the payment industry is an asset
Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Applications
