Job Description

FOLKS is looking for a storyteller to showcase our visual effects.

Expert in video and sound editing, the editor we're looking for must have an artistic vision that enables him or her to create original concepts as well as execute the vision of the VFX supervisors and the marketing team.

This role requires technical mastery, artistic sensitivity and the ability to work with a variety of people. As an editor, you will play a key role in communicating our vision to our clients, partners and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Editing :

• Company Demo
• Show Reel
• Pitch Reel
• Breakdown
• Social Reel
• Award Submission
• Content for internal communications
• Music (Ensuring relevant and inspiring musical research, selection and editing).
• Work closely with project teams to understand needs and meet brief requirements.
• Work closely with other members of the marketing team.

Feedback management and integration :

• Integrate feedback efficiently and respectfully throughout the editing process.

Maintaining quality standards :

• Ensure excellent technical and artistic quality while meeting deadlines.

Creative and technological monitoring :

• Keep up with editing trends and tools updates.
• Constantly look for original solutions that combine visual creativity and musical relevance to enrich the edits.

Qualifications

Technical skills :

• Mastery of DaVinci Resolve, Avid and Adobe Premiere Pro editing tools.
• Knowledge of Nuke (an asset).
• Understanding of VFX workflows (an asset).

Communication and collaboration :

• Languages : Fluent in French and English (Spanish a plus).
• Ability to understand the varied needs of teams and incorporate constructive feedback.
• Ability to suggest ideas and concepts while remaining flexible in their execution.
• Strong artistic sense, with a particular focus on storytelling.
• Passion for the film industry.
• Interest in VFX.

Personality and professional qualities :

• Empathy and ability to actively listen to the needs of others.
• Proactive, organized and able to manage several projects in parallel.
• Passion for music and ability to integrate it harmoniously into the editing process.
