Job summary

Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences in Toronto seeks a Creative Arts Therapy Lecturer for the Theory and Practice of Psychotherapy course. The position is for Spring or Fall 2027 (approx. 3 months) with hybrid delivery on campus or virtually.

Reporting to the Program/Clinical Director, you will shape student learning and contribute to the development of the new MCAT program. Responsibilities include teaching, assessing, supervising, advising students individually, supporting curriculum

Qualifications

• MA or PhD in art therapy, creative arts therapy, expressive arts therapy or psychotherapy.
• Three years’ graduate level teaching experience in art therapy/creative arts therapy/expressive arts therapy/psychotherapy.
• Experience teaching in-person, live online, and asynchronous formats.
• Minimum five years of clinical experience in art therapy/creative arts therapy/expressive arts therapy/psychotherapy; clinical supervision is an asset.
• Experience in curriculum development and building courses on LMS; D2L-Brightspace is an asset.
• Registered and in good standing with CRPO.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching and research.
• Active research and publication record is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teach, assess and supervise students for the duration of the course.
• Meet with students on an individual basis to support their learning and to provide academic advice.
• Support curriculum development.
• The ability to inspire students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for creative arts therapy.
• Contribute to ongoing growth of Whitecliffe University and participate in faculty meetings.
