Job summary

Whitecliffe University of Applied Sciences in Toronto seeks an engaging educator to teach graduate courses: Expressive Arts Therapy: Individual and Intermodal Process and related skills. Reporting to the Program/Clinical Director, you will shape students' learning experiences and impact this new program.

The role requires CRPO credentials, experience teaching in multiple formats (in-person, synchronous, asynchronous), and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Term: Spring or Fall 2027, approx.

Qualifications

• MA or PhD or equivalent in art therapy, creative arts therapy, expressive arts therapy, psychotherapy.
• Three years’ experience in graduate level teaching in art therapy/creative arts therapy/expressive arts therapy/psychotherapy.
• Experience teaching in-person, virtual synchronous, and virtual asynchronous formats.
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in art therapy/creative arts therapy/expressive arts therapy/psychotherapy; clinical supervision is an asset.
• Experience in curriculum development and building courses on LMS (D2L-Brightspace is an asset).
• Registered in good standing with CRPO; CRPO licensing or equivalent required.
• Certification in art therapy and/or expressive arts therapy (RCAT/OATR or EXAT/REAT).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Interpersonal and organizational skills; commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Active research/publication record is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Teach, assess and supervise students for the duration of the course.
• Meet with students on an individual basis to support learning and provide academic advice.
• Support curriculum development.
• Inspire students’ curiosity and enthusiasm for expressive arts therapy.
• Contribute to the growth of Whitecliffe University; participate in faculty meetings and accreditation as required.
