Job summary

Flynn Group of Companies is seeking a qualified Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator to support our Hamilton operations.

The role involves performing pre-operational crane inspections, managing lift plans, and safely operating boom cranes on-site with attention to safety protocols and site requirements.

Qualifications

• Certifications required for crane operations on job sites.
• Minimum 3 years of mobile crane experience preferred.
• DZ license with clean driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operational crane inspections.
• Maintain daily lift and delivery schedule on job sites.
• Operate boom crane on site following lift plan and safety protocols.
• Perform rigging procedures as required.
• Collaborate with Supervisor and operations team to manage schedules and internal customer service.
• Load and deliver materials and equipment to and from sites.
• Observe load hookups and ensure load safety.
• Complete crane logs and safety paperwork.
• Inspect crane for defects and report malfunctions.

A Day in the Life

• Perform pre-operational crane inspections
• Maintaining daily pre-planned schedule of job site lifts and deliveries
• Proficiently and safely operate boom truck crane on job sites following lift plan, safety protocols and any site-specific requirements
• Perform rigging procedures as required
• Management of schedule in collaboration with Supervisor and operations team, maintaining a high standard of internal customer service
• Delivery and pick-up of finished goods and metal products
• Load and deliver material and equipment to and from sites
• Observes load hookup and determines safety of load
• Uses critical lift plan checklist and signs off on completion
• Responsible for completing crane logs and maintenance documents including required safety paperwork
• Complete inspections and maintain ELD Logs
• Perform end of day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism
• Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions

What You’ll Bring

• Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator 2 certification. (16,000-30,000 lbs) OR Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator 1 verification
• Prefer – 3+ years of mobile crane experience
• DZ License with clean Driver's Abstract
• Experience with handling roofing materials and sheet metal an asset
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Team player with a proactive, safety-oriented mind set
