Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an experienced Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator to join our team. You will perform pre-operational inspections, manage lifts, and operate a boom truck crane on various job sites following safety protocols and site requirements.

The role requires crane certifications (2 or 1), a DZ license with a clean driving record, and strong communication and organizational skills. You will coordinate with the supervisor and operations team to ensure safe, efficient material

Qualifications

• Hoisting Engineer - Mobile Crane Operator 2 certification (16,000-30,000 lbs) or Hoisting Engineer – Mobile Crane Operator 1 verification (any capacity).
• Prefer – 3+ years of mobile crane experience.
• DZ License with clean Driver's Abstract.
• Experience with handling roofing materials and sheet metal an asset.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Team player with a proactive, safety-oriented mind set.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operational crane inspections.
• Maintain daily pre-planned schedule of job site lifts and deliveries.
• Operate boom truck crane on job sites following lift plan, safety protocols and any site-specific requirements.
• Perform rigging procedures as required.
• Management of schedule in collaboration with Supervisor and operations team, maintaining a high standard of internal customer service.
• Delivery and pick-up of finished goods and metal products.
• Load and deliver material and equipment to and from sites.
• Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
• Uses critical lift plan checklist and signs off on completion.
• Responsible for completing crane logs and maintenance documents including required safety paperwork.
• Complete inspections and maintain ELD Logs.
• Perform end of day driver check-ins to ensure complete and accurate paperwork completion.
• Cleans and maintains crane and hoisting mechanism.
• Inspects crane for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.
