Job summary

PCL Energy Inc. seeks a Craft Recruitment Student to support campus and field recruitment at our Nisku, AB office.

You will screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and help maintain an up-to-date candidate database while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies. This eight-month role starts January 2027, reports to the Workforce Manager, and offers exposure to apprenticeship documentation, safety training coordination, and strong professional growth in a collaborative

Responsibilities

• Assist with screening resumes and interviewing candidates.
• Maintain an accurate database of potential workers.
• File resumes, jobsite information, apprenticeships, safety tickets, etc.
• Recruit, interview, and hire the best-qualified candidates.
• Communicate the compensation package to new hires.
• Coordinate safety training for new hires.
• Answer daily calls and emails from candidates.
• Support department administration tasks as needed.
• Maintain compliance with PCL policies and confidentiality.

We are seekingHuman Resources Students for PCL Energy Inc. to work as Craft Recruitment Students in our Nisku, AB Office. We are looking for students that are available for 8 months starting in January 2027. The positions will be under the direct supervisor of a Workforce Manager.

As a Craft RecruitmentStudent, you will contribute to our team by:

• Assisting with screening resumes and conducting interviews for available job opportunities.
• Maintaining an accurate database of potential workers.
• Filing necessary documentation: resumes, jobsite information, apprenticeship, safety tickets, etc.
• Assuring constant contact with the labor pool to recruit, interview, and hire the best qualified candidates available to fill job requirements.
• Treating all documentation, wage information, personal information in a confidential manner, and in accordance with PCL policies and guidelines.
• Communicating the compensation package to new hires.
• Confirming technical qualifications with various provincial apprenticeship boards and other certificate issuing authorities.
• Working with team to collect apprenticeship documents.
• Coordinating safety training for new hires as per job requirements.
• Working with team to understand requirements for workers on site.
• Answering daily phone calls and emails from candidates or potential candidates.
• Assisting with various department administration tasks when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• Pursuing a degree or diploma with a Human Resources Major preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of various computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook).
• Must be proactive in terms of anticipating needs and follow-up items for the project team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality required of work assignments and is independent and resourceful to accomplish day- to-day tasks and assignments.
• Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high-degree of accuracy and professionalism.
