Job summary

PCL is seeking Engineering Students for the Canadian Industrial Division to join the Fabrication Facility in Nisku, AB. You will work on real projects under the supervision of a Project Manager, with eight months of hands-on experience starting January 2027.

As an Engineering Student, you will assist with planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, cost control, reviewing drawings, coordinating trades, and producing as-built drawings.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical or materials major.
• Prior field construction experience is an asset.
• Proficient with common office software and drafting tools.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated and proactive.

Responsibilities

• Verifying material quantities, hours, and rates

We are seeking Mechanical and Materials Students for our Canadian Industrial Division to work in our Fabrication Facility in Nisku, AB. We are looking for students that are available for 8 months starting in January 2027. The positions will be under the direct supervisor of a Project Manager.

As an Engineering Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Assisting with project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, and cost control
• Reviewing drawings
• Coordinating work specific scope / trades
• Verifying material quantities, hours, and rates
• Participating in project meetings
• Submit requests for information
• Inputting / Updating deficiency logs
• Producing as-built drawings

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering with a mechanical or materials major.
• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated.

Working Conditions:

• Successful applicants must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test.
• Our Fabrication Facility is not easily accessible by public transportation so the successful applicant will need access to a vehicle.
