Job summary

PCL in Edmonton, AB is seeking an Accounting Student for the Canadian Industrial Division. You will support the accounting team through a variety of tasks beginning January 2027 for 4 or 8 months, under the supervision of the Accounting Manager.

This role offers hands-on experience in accounts payable, invoicing, reconciliations, and reporting while developing professional skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

We are seeking Accounting Student for our Canadian Industrial Division to work in our Edmonton, AB office. We are looking for students that are available for 4 or 8 months starting in January 2027. The positions will be under the direct supervisor of the Accounting Manager.

As an Accounting Student, you will contribute to our team by performing a combination of the following duties dependent on the assigned project:

• Full Cycle Accounts Payable
• Entering invoices into the PCL accounting system
• Bank reconciliations
• Inter-company invoicing
• Courier and phone costing
• Running and updating various reports
• Reconciling supplier statements
• Visa card reconciliations
• Preparing accounts receivable report
• Weekly cheque printing
• Client progress billings
• Subcontract administration
• Creation and management of Ad Hoc Reports
• Miscellaneous support to Accounting team

Qualifications

What you will bring to the role:

• Currently enrolled in an Accounting diploma/degree program.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, and spreadsheet applications.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to perform multiple projects effectively in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Successful applicants must be able to provide their own CSA approved steel toed boots and be willing to take and pass a Pre-Access Alcohol & Drug Test. Public transportation is not available for this position so successful applicant must have their own vehicle.
