Job summary

The Prince Rupert Law Courts team in BC Public Service provides essential registry and in-court services to support the justice system. This role supports pre-court, in-court, and post-court duties, including document preparation, recording proceedings and file management, while delivering front-counter services.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation or GED required.
  • Minimum two years’ administrative support or customer service experience.
  • Minimum one-year experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing and standard office software (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
  • Preference may be given to applicants with experience in court programs and as Court Clerk/Registry Clerk.
  • One year of legal environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-court, in-court and post-court duties including preparing and reviewing court documents, recording proceedings and managing case files.
  • Provide front counter court services and assist judges, lawyers and the public to ensure accurate documentation and smooth court operations.
  • Collaborate with justice partners to ensure adjudication support and efficient service.
