Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Seasonal Utility Courier for Red Deer. This full-time position at the Red Deer depot offers 40 hours per week and a guaranteed schedule. The pay rate is $29.58 per hour, with the role expected to run through December 2026 and potential extension into March 2027.

You will be responsible for picking up and delivering packages, scanning shipments, and working with Dispatch to resolve issues on the road, while maintaining safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Valid non-probationary Driver's License.
• Clean Driving Abstract; must pass written and road tests.
• Defensive Driving course and Courier Methods training.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules.
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day.
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers.
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and E-DVIR.
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager.

Job Details

Location: Red Deer Depot - 115 Queens Drive, Red Deer AB

Working Hours: 40 weekly hours

Scheduled Shift: full-time, Monday-Sunday availability required; exact schedule varies depending upon needs (40 hours guaranteed)

Pay rate: $29.58 per hour

Please note: This is expected to be a temporary seasonal position until end of December 2026. Possibility for extension into March 2027 and beyond as well.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• When inspections fail, the Courier advises the unit manager

Requirements

• Valid non-probationary Driver's License
• Clean Driving Abstract (please upload a current driver's abstract with your resume)
• Must successfully pass written & road test(s)
• Must successfully pass Defensive Driving course
• Must successfully pass Courier Methods training course
• Ability to read maps; Good sense of geographical direction
• Courier methods training and/or work related experience
• Proper scan and load techniques
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 70 lbs.
• Successfully complete a criminal record check and employment verification to qualify
• Obtain a clear Police Clearance Certificate when required
