Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Courier/Sorter Relief to support 20 hours per week with flexible shifts, including on-call coverage. This hybrid role may involve dock work or delivering packages to customers, depending on daily needs.

You will join a team focused on reliable service and safe operations. You must have a high school diploma, vocational training, and a valid Class 5 driver's license, with at least 3 years of driving experience and a clean record.

Qualifications

• Completion of vocational courses relevant to logistics or driving preferred.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily schedules.
• Load and unload trailers/trucks.
• Scan packages and manage deliveries or returns at the depot.
• Resolve issues with Dispatch and customers while on the road.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Shift: 20 hours/week - Flexibility to work various shifts based on company needs. On-Call as needed.

Pay Rate:

• $19.28/hour when working the Sorter shift
• $21.84/hour when working the Courier shift

Description

The Courier/Sorter Relief is a hybrid role. The shift could be on the dock, loading and unloading packages from the trucks, or you could be required to work the Courier shift of delivering packages to the customers.

Called in as needed to cover shifts for 20 hours/week - Does not conform to a regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver customer packages to meet daily pick-up and delivery schedules
• Load and unload trailers/trucks
• Scan packages / mail as it is received, delivered, or returned to the depot at the end of the day
• Resolve problems as they arise while on the road in collaboration with Dispatch and customers
• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections using a package scanner and electronic-Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (E-DVIR)
• Unload all curbside vehicles
• Load line haul trailers to ensure all pre-scheduled departures are met
• Scanning/Cubing/Reweighing

Additional Responsibilities

Experience

3 years of driving experience and clean driver’s abstract to drive delivery vehicles.
