Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure prompt, clear communication with clients via phone and email. Efficiently schedules and coordinates client sessions, maintaining organized time management. Conducts thorough client assessments, ensuring accurate documentation of relevant information. Manages client files, adhering to protocols and timelines for timely opening, updating, and closing.
- Provides client-focused, strengths-based counselling using varying clinical approaches for individuals, families, and couples.
- Acts as an advocate for clients when appropriate to support their needs and goals.
- This role connects clients to relevant community resources or specialists and manages child protection concerns with timely, accurate reporting and action.
- Maintains accurate and confidential client contact records and progress. Adheres to established file protocols and timelines.
- Engages in regular supervision with the Unit and Clinical Supervisor to ensure professional development and adherence to standards.
- Participates in clinical team meetings, ongoing training, and reflective practices to improve professional performance.
- Leads occasional groups as needed
- Assesses and resolves client-related challenges with creativity and sound judgment.
- Ensures services are responsive to client needs and contribute to their long-term positive outcomes.
- Utilizes company software, virtual communication tools, and digital resources effectively for documentation, reporting, and service delivery.
- May be required to assist in intake processes
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is required
- Registered or eligible for registration with SASW
- Minimum of 1-2 years of counselling or social work experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed practice, mental health, addictions, and family dynamics.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
