Job summary

Dilico Anishinabek Family Care in Thunder Bay, ON seeks a Counselling Services Manager to lead the Indigenous children’s mental health program, ensuring timely access and culturally responsive support. You will oversee intake, assessment and therapy within a wraparound framework grounded in healing and relationships.

The role requires a health-related degree (Masters preferred), 3–6 years of leadership experience in Indigenous organizations, and strong skills in program management, grant writing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a health-related field; Masters preferred.
  • 3–6 years of leadership/management experience in Indigenous-led organization.
  • Experience in mental health or health-related field with social/behavioral programming considered an asset.
  • Experience in grant or proposal writing.
  • Experience in leadership, managerial, interpersonal and decision-making skills.

Salary Range: $83,679.00 To $97,893.23 Annually

Position Overview

Our goal in Clinical and Children's Services is to provide a single point of access to timely children’s mental health services, focusing on positive outcomes for our clients. We provide

Indigenous strength-based healing and support, and teach healthy coping skills for children, and youth experiencing social, emotional, developmental, or behavioral difficulties. Grounded

in a relationship-based framework of care, Dilico recognizes relationships as the foundation of healing and wellness.

The Dilico Counselling Services program provides culturally responsive support to children, youth, and families through an Indigenous trauma-informed framework that integrates

evidence-based practice with cultural and land-based approaches. This program is built on the principles of mutual respect and trust, collaboration and partnership, understanding

context, and reciprocity.

We deliver services using a coordinated wraparound model that supports children and youth within the context of their families, caregivers, communities, and culture. Recognizing that

healing and well-being are strengthened through meaningful connections, the program fosters resilience, belonging, cultural identity, and sustainable positive outcomes by engaging

and empowering the broader support network surrounding each child and youth.

The manager will work to ensure intake, assessment and therapy is provided in a manner consistent with Dilico’s vision, mission and core values. This includes the overall

management, supervision, and coordination of the activities of the program and employees.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a health related field is required, with a Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience as a leader or manager, with 3-6 years of experience in an Indigenous-led organization preferred.
  • Experience in mental health or health related field, particularly in the development and implementation of social and behavioral programming will be considered an asset.
  • Experience in grant or proposal writing.
  • Experience in leadership, managerial, interpersonal and decision-making skills.
