Position title: Cost Controller

Reporting to: Vice-President of Finance

Rainbow Greenhouses, a North American leader in horticulture and floraculture, is seeking an experienced senior or inventory cost accountant make the leap to controllership and join our team. The Cost Controller is responsible for overseeing and tabulating the input costs relating to the company’s departments, programs, projects, and initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Cost Monitoring & Financial Analysis

• Track and analyze product input costs to ensure consistency and financial accuracy.
• Identify cost trends and work with procurement to maintain budget stability.
• Develop cost-monitoring strategies to improve transparency and control.
  
  

Budget Management & Cost Allocation

• Ensure costs are properly allocated within departments for accurate financial reporting.
• Support department heads in understanding expenditures and enhancing financial accountability.
• Maintain structured cost management systems to optimize resource usage.
  
  

Strategic Cost Reduction & Process Improvement

• Partner with department leaders and organizational stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct financial analyses to recommend consolidation strategies and efficiency improvements.
• Streamline financial workflows to support business growth and operational sustainability.
  
  

Technology Enablement

• Learn how to create reports from each of our three systems to prepare reports for leadership.
• Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly tools to communicate project, program, and initiative tracking for sales, operations, and financial stakeholders.
• Scrub and map datasets from legacy systems to provide consistent and traceable results.
  
  

Desired Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, and CPA designation required.
• Proven experience in cost control, budgeting, or financial analysis, preferably in the floriculture or agriculture sector.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial reporting tools and software.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage cross-functionally.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  
  

Compensation

Rainbow offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with education, experience and proven results ($80K-100K+ annually).
