Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or engineering, or trades with 10+ years TAR experience.
  • 5+ years of TAR or Project Controls experience and SAP.
  • PMP or PMI certification an asset.
  • Proven proficiency in Power BI programming and Oracle and Primavera systems.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a cross-functional team to administer KPI programs and coordinate with planners and schedulers.
  • Provide hands-on technical and administrative leadership of the controls aspect of the event.
  • Ensure integrity of TAR Event control, costing and reporting and data visibility for the business.
  • Audit operations and identify opportunities for efficiencies and standardization.
  • Capture scheduling activities to ensure resources are utilized and productivity tracked.
  • Support baseline schedule and forensic cost diagnosis for projects.
  • Forecast work using construction execution plans and project forecasting.

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is currently recruiting for a TURNAROUND CONTROLS LEAD for an opportunity to work in the Calgary area.

Job Description
  • Manage a cross-functional team to assist with administering KPI programs, coordinating with customer planners and schedulers, coordinating event reporting, review billing, asset tracking, track cost to date and leans to promote understanding and compliance with established protocols for the event and cost to complete metrics for all PO’s.
  • Responsible for providing hands‑on technical and administrative leadership of the control’s aspect of the event.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the integrity of TAR Event control, costing and reporting, ensuring data visibility for the business.
  • Audit ongoing operations and identify opportunities for efficiencies and standardization of methods to improve TAR health.
  • Capture all site scheduling activities to ensure all craft resources are fully utilized and productivity is tracked.
  • Compile and support the baseline schedule, which includes tracking the schedule and completing Forensic Assessment for required diagnosis of schedule and cost.
  • Manage special areas of work using construction execution plans and forecasting work, including current commitments, estimated growth allowances, and work to complete.
  • Incorporate estimating, cost and schedule data of proposals for project execution analysis.
  • Utilize planning and scheduling tools to drive productivity improvements.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or engineering, or trades certification with 10+ years’ experience in TAR preparation and execution.
  • 5+ years of experience in TAR or Project Controls and SAP.
  • PMP or PMI certification an asset.
  • Proven proficiency in Power BI programming and Oracle and Primavera systems.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively meet deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
