Job summary

NES Fircroft in Calgary is seeking a full-time Manager, Project Controls to lead cost, schedule, and reporting for the Demonstration Program and Clearwater Project in Alberta, with work based in Calgary.

This role collaborates with project leadership to ensure disciplined control over performance through FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning in a fast-moving energy setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in project controls for industrial or energy projects.
• Experience developing capital cost estimates to CIM or AACE standards.
• Strong proficiency with scheduling and cost management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, ERP systems).
• Experience with earned value management and capital project reporting.
• Experience working in owner's team environments.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate complex project performance information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project cost and schedule baselines for Clearwater Project scopes.
• Oversee cost tracking, forecasting, variance analysis, and earned value reporting.
• Lead development and maintenance of integrated project schedules, including critical path and milestone tracking.
• Support the development of capital cost estimates to CIM and AACE standards.
• Implement change management processes, including evaluation of change orders and assessment of cost/schedule impacts.
• Support risk management processes, including risk register maintenance and contingency analysis.
• Prepare regular performance reports, dashboards, and KPIs for project leadership and corporate stakeholders.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, supply chain, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment between controls and execution.
• Mentor and supervise project controls staff supporting the project.
