Job Title: Cost Control Specialist Co-op

The ideal candidate is interested in large capital resource construction projects, focusing on engineering, construction, cost, and schedule. This placement offers exposure to Teck’s Projects Group delivery strategy and involves implementing project cost control methods on Teck’s Red Dog projects, including Aktigiruq & Anarraaq Extension Program and Aktigiruq & Anarraaq Access Road.

Responsibilities include working through various project phases—engineering, progress, cost, schedule, and safety—and assisting with related tasks. Candidates must be willing to commute or relocate, be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution, and have a valid work permit if applicable.

Salary Range: $4,700 - $6,000/month, based on academic progress and experience.

Responsibilities:

• Safety leadership and compliance
• Monitoring and recording project expenses
• Inputting contractor data into Teck’s cost tracking system
• Tracking project progress and timelines
• Reviewing data for cost/schedule variances and initiating change management
• Collaborating with procurement, engineering, and social/environmental teams

Qualifications:

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Civil Engineering or Finance program
• Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; PowerBI is an asset
• Ability to work independently and in teams
