Job summary

Raise is seeking a Cost Analyst for a 6-month contract in Bedford, NS. The role is hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day at home) and focuses on cost allocations, invoice reconciliation, and financial reporting for a key client in the capital markets sector.

Responsibilities include reconciling invoices, preparing allocation templates, and analyzing variances. Strong Excel skills and accounting knowledge are essential to communicate findings to trading teams and senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 1-3 years of experience in Capital Markets, Securities Trading, Brokerage, or similar environment.
• Familiarity with Capital Markets products and various associated supporting systems used within organization (Fixed Income, Money Markets, Equities, Derivatives, etc.).
• Understanding of accounting procedures and systems.
• Highly organized with an attention to detail and an ability to analyze information.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly to trading business and senior management.
• Comfortable with adhering to deliverables in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Intermediate to advanced level knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile invoices and calculate internal business allocations following business agreed methodology.
• Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendor and trading business.
• Document variances to best practice and provide to team lead for approval.
• Prepare allocation templates and post to financial systems.
• Arrange vendor payment through accounts payable or manual payment.
• Manage special financial scenarios: accruals, prepayments, journals, etc. Prepare reports for and respond to inquiries from various parties including the trading business, product control, financial control.
• Perform cost analysis identifying material trends and drivers and/or opportunities for savings; perform business analysis and testing for onboarding of new invoices or processing improvements.
• Work on assigned projects in process improvement and automation.

• Pay Rate: $43.17/hr - $51.17/hr
• Contract Length: 6 Months

Responsibilities:

• Reconcile invoices and calculate internal business allocations following business agreed methodology
• Investigate reconciliation discrepancies and coordinate resolution with vendor and trading business
• Document variances to best practice and provide to team lead for approval

• Arrange vendor payment through accounts payable or manual payment

• Understanding of Capital Markets organizational structure (including front office sales and trading, middle office, product control, back-office operations, regulatory/compliance, etc.)
