Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years tax experience within the financial services sector (corporate tax compliance and/or tax advisory).
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian corporate taxation, including compliance processes, accounting fundamentals, and transfer pricing concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and corporate tax software (e.g., Corporate TaxPrep).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Corporate Tax - Senior Associate will deliver end-to-end Canadian corporate tax compliance and settlements, supporting audits, transfer pricing, and governance.

Job Description

Reporting to the Executive Director of Tax (Canada), you will deliver end-to-end Canadian tax compliance across all Canadian legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate filings, strong documentation, audit readiness, and effective controls and governance.

Job Responsibilities
Tax filings, settlements, and reporting support
  • You will prepare and coordinate Canadian corporate income tax and GST/HST, PST, and QST returns for all Canadian legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
  • You will assist in the calculation, preparation, and timely settlement of tax payable obligations, including preparing journal entries to accurately reflect filings and payments.
  • You will perform corporate income tax and GST/HST, PST, and QST account reconciliations to support financial reporting, including provision-related schedules and supporting documentation.
Transfer pricing, audits, and legislation
  • You will assist in the preparation and maintenance of transfer pricing documentation and support transfer pricing compliance requirements in partnership with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
  • You will support tax audits and inquiries by gathering information, drafting responses, tracking requests, and supporting interactions and relationship management with local tax authorities.
  • You will assist with interpreting and applying federal and provincial tax legislation to evaluate tax impacts of products, transactions, and activities on compliance obligations.
Governance and stakeholder coordination
  • You will prepare corporate and governance reporting related to tax compliance and controls, and partner with tax accounting and compliance stakeholders to support adherence to tax policies, control standards, and documentation requirements.
  • You will manage and coordinate deliverables with external tax advisors, including scoping work, reviewing outputs, and ensuring alignment with timelines and internal expectations.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Tax, Accounting, or an equivalent discipline.
  • 3-4 years of tax experience within the financial services sector (corporate tax compliance and/or tax advisory).
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian corporate taxation, including tax compliance processes, tax accounting fundamentals, and transfer pricing concepts.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and corporate tax software (e.g., Corporate TaxPrep or equivalent).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
  • Service-oriented mindset with a track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills.
  • CPA designation.
  • Completion of the CPA In-Depth Tax Program.
  • Experience with a large public accounting firm.
