Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Brampton, ON, is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team.

You will design and layout mechanical equipment, piping, and plant systems, collaborating with project engineers and applying Inventor and AutoCAD tools. The role emphasizes detailed design, documentation, and multi-project management, with a focus on quality, GD&T, and clear English communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in mechanical equipment design and drawing preparation.
  • University/College degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Proficient in 2D drafting and 3D modeling using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D – Navisworks and Autodesk Vault is an asset.
  • Experience in material handling or heavy machinery design is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and clear written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project engineers on equipment design, layout design and piping design.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs, including material handling equipment, plant layouts and piping layout, while incorporating engineering changes into existing designs.
  • Generate and update detailed engineering documents by using Autodesk Inventor and other 2D and 3D tools for part drawings, assembly drawings, layout drawings, bill of material and equipment manuals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure adherence to project schedules.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Responsibilities
