POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Corporate Assurance Specialist to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. The successful candidate will report to the Director, Corporate Assurance and oversee the QC Chemist(s) and Regulatory Specialist(s). The ideal candidate is a well-rounded individual with experience across organizational departments, strong knowledge in quality management, and excellent soft skills, strategic thinking, and independent problem-solving abilities.

The Corporate Assurance Specialist plays an integral role throughout all departments and must maintain open communication with all professional team members, ensuring honesty, transparency, and respect to support the company's growth and success.

FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all training and policy requirements are current via Workhub.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, making sound decisions and communicating clearly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement and improve the organization’s QMS to meet quality requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits to assess and improve quality processes.
  • Participate in external audits related to quality, operations, and compliance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with departments to identify quality improvements and support operational targets.
  • Maintain documentation related to quality assurance and compliance metrics.
  • Support change management processes.
  • Develop proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Atlassian tools, and Workhub.
  • Gain working knowledge of CIN7 (ERP) for operational audits and reporting.
  • Provide regular updates to the Director of Corporate Assurance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

GROWTH RESPONSIBILITIES & FUTURE SCOPE

  • Sustain and improve the company's QMS, driving efficiency and corporate improvements.
  • Provide leadership supporting the company's vision and strategic goals.
  • Offer training and mentorship on the QMS to foster a quality culture.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for QMS performance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015.
  • Analyze processes to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure cross-functional process effectiveness.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Experience as an auditor for ISO9001 or ISO 17025; IRCA certification is an asset. Lean Six Sigma certification is also an asset.
  • At least 5 years in a QA role within manufacturing, managing and improving QMS processes.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance, auditing, and ISO standards.
  • Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, and work independently with a collaborative approach.
  • Experience in conducting audits, preparing reports, and managing corrective actions.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
