Job summary

Wealthsimple is seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Actions Specialist to own the daily processing of corporate actions and dividends across client accounts. You will catch discrepancies early and improve back-office processes to protect client assets.

Reporting to the Team Lead of Corporate Actions, you’ll collaborate with Operations, Trade Desk, and other teams to resolve issues, analyze data, and ensure records reflect entitlements and payments accurately.

Qualifications

• 2+ years back-office corporate action processing for equities and options (CIRO-regulated dealer preferred).
• Experience with CDS, DTC, OCC, and CDCC.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Comfortable with large data sets and identifying cause of breaks.

Responsibilities

• Own the daily processing of corporate actions and dividends across client accounts, catching and resolving discrepancies before they reach clients.
• Work directly with Operations Associates to keep records accurate for clients.
• Act as subject matter expert on tax issues related to corporate actions and dividends.
• Partner with Trade Desk, securities lending, management, and other teams to escalate and resolve critical issues and reduce risk.
• Analyze the impact of new product launches on corporate actions and dividend processes, and implement required changes.
• Troubleshoot, manage, and resolve reconciliation differences proactively.
• Use data to identify inefficiencies and implement fixes.
• Develop processes to increase the efficiency of back-office operations.
