Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking a Corporate Accountant to support corporate accounting processes at Edmonton NAHQ.

The role includes processing statements, intercompany billings, reconciliations and year-end procedures, with emphasis on accuracy and stakeholder communication. The position requires a postsecondary accounting credential and up to two years of related experience, plus understanding of GAAP and construction basics.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary diploma / degree in accounting or related discipline preferred.
• 2 years of progressive experience in related field preferred.
• Basic understanding of GAAP.
• Basic knowledge of construction industry helpful.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a matrix organization.
• Proficiency with MS Office and accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Processes corporate credit card statements and employee expense statements.
• Prepares intercompany billings and payables between all PCL companies.
• Prepares monthly bank and clearing accounts reconciliations.
• Completes corporate accounts payables and receivables processes.
• Liaises between districts and banks to resolve bank issues.
• Troubleshoots vendor payments, intercompany billings and bank queries.
• Processes monthly sales tax reconciliations and remittances.
• Performs year-end procedures as assigned.
• Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Develops strong customer-focused relationships with key stakeholders.
• Supports profitability culture and continuous improvement.
