Job summary

BCGEU is seeking an Educational Assistant to support the Foods Program at GWC Elementary. This 30-minute/day role helps deliver food programs to priority students across elementary schools.

Applicants should have strong experience with children, confidentiality, and effective communication with students and staff; FoodSafe is an asset, with certification required if not already held.

Qualifications

• Secondary School graduation.
• Previous experience in working with children.
• Ability to organize work effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Ability to handle and maintain all information with a high degree of confidentiality.
• Equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Familiarity with Indigenous culture is an asset.
• Clear Criminal Record Check.

Commencement Date

September 15, 2026, to June 18, 2027

This posting is for 30 minutes/day of EA time to support the delivery of food programs to priority students in each of our elementary schools. FoodSafe is considered an asset; successful candidates will be required to obtain FoodSafe certification if not in possession of a certificate upon hiring.
