Job summary

Lac La Biche County is seeking a Coordinator, Training to support the Alberta Law Enforcement Training Centre (ALETC). This role coordinates scheduling, student services, records, and logistics to ensure training programs run efficiently and are properly documented.

The successful candidate will manage course calendars, registrations, facilities, instructors, and communications with students and partner agencies, while also supporting training events and accreditation processes.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in business/public administration or related field; degree is an asset.
  • 3–5 years of related experience in business/public administration or education administration or a similar field.
  • Experience coordinating multiple administrative functions is a strong asset.
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff across the organization.
  • Good judgment, tact and professionalism when working in a public-sector environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and modern software.
  • Class 5 driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the administrative and logistical requirements of ALETC training programs, including course scheduling, registration, facilities, instructors, accommodations, resources, and course materials.
  • Maintaining the master training calendar and coordinating schedule changes and related communications with students, instructors, partner agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinating forward training-resource planning by monitoring scheduled and anticipated course demand, instructor availability, facility requirements, and student capacity, and identifies potential capacity or resource conflicts to the Director.
  • Serving as a primary administrative contact for students, instructors, participating agencies, and other training partners.
  • Coordinating training-related events, graduations, course-completion activities, and other program requirements.
  • Coordinating administrative processes related to student registration, prerequisites, attendance, course completion, certification, and approved assessment documentation.
  • Preparing schedules, correspondence, reports, briefing materials, meeting materials, and other documentation as required.
  • Maintaining instructor qualification and certification records and identifies administrative requirements for review by the Director.
  • Assuming Emergency Management and other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Lac La Biche County is looking for a Coordinator, Training to join our team and support the effective day-to-day operation of the Alberta Law Enforcement Training Centre (ALETC). The position is responsible for coordinating the scheduling, student-service, records, logistical, and administrative requirements necessary for the effective delivery of ALETC training programs. The position serves as a central point of coordination between students, instructors, partner agencies, facilities, and internal support functions to ensure training activities are organized, appropriately resourced, accurately documented, and effectively communicated.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Position Details:
  • Permanent, full-time employment
  • 40-hour workweek, typically Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
