Job summary

Fresh Start Foods Canada Ltd. in Milton, Ontario is seeking a full-time Coordinator Quality Assurance to join our team. The role supports quality systems, conducts inspections, and drives compliance with GFSI and customer requirements.

Schedule: Sunday through Friday, 9am–5pm with Saturday and another weekday off. Fixed contract for 6 months, with possible extension or permanent hire after the term. Salary: $45,000/year.

Qualifications

  • High School / Equivalent and Certification or License as HACCP and/or FDA Preventive Control Qualified Individual.
  • Preferred: Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, and/or quality control within manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous improvement and adequacy of quality assurance systems to support business, customer, and regulatory expectations.
  • Review daily records, including scale verification, thermometer verification, pH meter calibration, and internal inspection of the facility.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating internal policies and procedures to satisfy GFSI, customer, or regulatory requirements.
  • Perform regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to internal policies.
  • Participate and assist in various employees’ Food Safety and Quality training, and manage training in the existing platform (e.g., Alchemy).
  • Communicate with other departmental personnel to meet food safety and quality compliance, and assist other departments as needed or requested.
  • Maintain food safety & quality assurance documentation and records such as supplier information, customer portal maintenance, and product specifications.
  • Liaise with the Research and Development department to create new products according to customer demand and industry trends.
  • Conduct and report shelf life studies on new and existing products.
  • Support the Food Safety & Quality Manager and Supervisor in customer, 3rd party, regulatory, and internal audits.
  • Act as a backup for team members when a QA/QC technician is not available.
  • Adhere to safe work practices.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by the FSQA Manager/Supervisor.

We are currently seeking a full time Coordinator Quality Assurance to join our team based out of our Milton, Ontario location.

Schedule: Sunday through Friday: 9am - 5pm with Saturday and another weekday off (Depends on the Business Needs).

Fixed Contract: 6 months; possible extension or permanent full time, after the fixed term

Education and Experience Requirements
