Job summary

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree / diploma in journalism, communications, marketing, media or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years working in a relevant professional environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and news judgement.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and in a team.
  • Effective time management to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of football.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for internal and external relationships.
  • Proficient with a content management system (CMS) and/or HTML.
  • Experience writing for an online publication.
  • Experience with digital platforms (Google Analytics, project management tools) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, WordPress, Chartbeat, and Google Analytics is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Support evolution of CFL’s digital platforms and maintenance of CFL.ca.
  • Manage internal photo archives and organize assets weekly.
  • Lead external photography partners, providing shot lists for live events.
  • Edit and publish content on CFL.ca under guidance of Senior Manager.
  • Editorial lead for regular season game nights, write recaps and post-game content.
  • Support content strategy to drive revenue, fan acquisition and brand value.
  • Measure and report on content initiatives to identify best practices.
  • Collaborate with Digital Marketing & Product to ensure asset delivery and QA.
  • Ensure CFL.ca content is accurate for partnerships, contests, and marketing initiatives.

Position Summary

The Canadian Football League is seeking a passionate and creative Coordinator, Digital Content to join our Content Marketing team in Toronto. From telling compelling stories to engaging fans across CFL-owned digital platforms, you'll play a key role in shaping the league’s biggest marketing platform, CFL.ca. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Web & Digital Content, the incumbent will be focused on website administration, editing and publishing for the CFL website and will oversee the league’s photography archive.

Key Responsbilities
  • Support the ongoing evolution of the CFL’s digital platforms, including maintenance and optimization of the league’s website.
  • Maintain and manage internal photo archives to create efficiencies for league office staff and content efforts for member clubs by archiving, tagging, and organizing all photography assets on weekly basis.
  • Act as day-to-day lead for external photography partners and freelancers, providing shot lists and working with photographers for various live CFL events (CFL Combine, Playoffs, Grey Cup, etc.) to ensure key images are captured and received for web and social usage.
  • Edit and publish content on CFL.ca under the guidance of Senior Manager, Web and Digital Content.
  • Work as editorial lead on regular season game nights, writing recaps and post-game content as well as oversight of CFL.ca and its freelancers.
  • Support content strategy and relevant league-wide storylines with the Senior Manager, Web & Digital Content with a focus on developing content that supports revenue-driving initiatives, marketable fan acquisition and provides brand value to the CFL.
  • Regularly measure and report on the success of content initiatives to identify best practices to inform future content decisions.
  • Work closely with Coordinator, Digital Marketing & Product to ensure clear delivery and quality assurance of any web-related assets.
  • Work with department manager and cross-functionally to ensure that content on CFL.ca is accurate and up to date for various lines of business, including but not limited to: contesting, partnership programs, and marketing initiatives

Expected Compensation

The expected compensation range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000, which includes base pay plus bonuses and variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position and should serve simply as a guide. The specific compensation offered may vary based on factors such as candidate experience, skills, budget, location.

Other Considerations

Hybrid Model: The incumbent will be required to attend the office in accordance with the CFL Hybrid Work Policy. In addition, you are required to attend meetings and other business events at the office or other venues as business needs dictate.

Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent must be available and willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as required.

Travel: As required.
