Job summary

Suncrest College invites applications for the permanent, part-time Coordinator, Community Engagement role in Saskatchewan. The position offers 975 hours per annum and starts as soon as possible, with placement in Melfort or Nipawin depending on the candidate.

The coordinator will build relationships with Indigenous communities, external agencies and international partners, support student transition, address barriers, and deliver services in person or remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum post-secondary qualification in a relevant field (Human Services, Community Development or Behavioral Sciences).
• One year of related learner support, coordination or community development experience is preferred.
• Education plus experience may be considered as a substitute for formal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support prospective and current students in College programs.
• Coordinate Indigenous and global engagement initiatives across the College and partner communities.
• Travel within the region to Indigenous communities and external agencies as required; deliver services in person or remotely.

Suncrest College welcomes applications for the position of Coordinator, Community Engagement. This is a permanent, part-time (975 hours per annum), position. This position starts as soon as possible, and can be located in either Melfort or Nipawin, SK (to be determined based on the applicant).

The Opportunity

This position supports prospective and current students in Suncrest College programs, while coordinating culturally relevant Indigenous and global engagement initiatives across the College and its partner communities. The Community Engagement Coordinator will support student transition and success by addressing barriers, connecting students to appropriate services, and supporting community engagement and partnership activities. This role will develop and maintain strong relationships with Indigenous communities, external agencies, and international partners. As such, travel within the region and to outlying First Nation communities will be required. The Community Engagement Coordinator must be flexible in delivering services both in person and remotely, based on student needs and accessibility to campus communities.

Requirements

• The minimum educational qualification for this position is a relevant post-secondary Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Community Development or a Behavioral Sciences field.
• The minimum amount of practical, related experience required to perform the duties of this position is one year in a learner support role., coordination role, or community development role.
• A combination of education and experience applicable to the position assignment may be considered.
