Your Opportunity

The Surgery Implementation Coordinator, reporting to the Program Manager for Operative Services, is responsible for activities across all stages of the Institute for Healthcare (IHO) project, aligned with the Alberta Surgical Initiative (ASI). The Coordinator works directly with IHO key stakeholders and manages project activities from initiation through closure, applying project management methodologies, facilitating diverse groups, engaging stakeholders, and contributing to organizational learning and quality improvement. The role requires working independently within a team-based environment, with travel and possibly using a personal vehicle. This position is non-unionized.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post secondary degree in a healthcare profession, business, or related field.
  • 3 years of experience in project management, including knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies.
  • Experience coordinating teams through project planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a unique project environment and move projects forward within constraints.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite (including MS Project, Visio, MS Teams).
  • Motivated, adaptable team player.
  • Proven ability to foster relationships with internal and external groups.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Application of systems thinking and change management principles.
  • Meeting facilitation skills.
