Job summary

Compass Group Canada in Vancouver is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team. The hourly wage ranges from $21 to $24, with final compensation based on skills and experience. We comply with pay transparency legislation and share total rewards details during the hiring process.

This role does not require Canadian work experience. As a Cook, you will prepare and cook food, set up mise en place, clean equipment, label and rotate products, and coordinate with operations.

Qualifications

• Proven cooking experience in a restaurant or prep cook role.
• Food Safety Certification is required.
• Certificate from a recognized cooking school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare mise en place and other products for high-volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment according to health and safety policies.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products.
• Communicate effectively with appropriate operational departments.
• Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $21 to $24. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, pre-cook and/or cook food products as directed.
• Prepare "mise en place" (setting in place of foods, garnishes, sauces, dishes, cutlery, etc) and otherproducts as required for high volume production.
• Clean kitchen equipment after use according to health and safety policies and procedures.
• Label, date, store and rotate food and beverage products in appropriate storage areas.
• Communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.
• Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
