Job summary

Schlegel Villages in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking a Permanent Part Time Cook with LTC experience to join our culinary team. This role focuses on delivering exceptional, nutritious meals to residents and families, while leading teammates to ensure a resident-centered dining experience.

You will follow physician orders and dietary guidelines, lift up to 35lbs, and support a culture that values dignity, respect, and high-quality service across our village communities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
• Produced food in large quantities, preferably in a hospital or long-term care setting.
• Have proven leadership abilities.
• Contribute toward a resident-centered care approach ensuring respect and dignity to all residents.
• Worked as a cooperative team member.

Responsibilities

• Create exceptional mealtime experiences for residents and families through delicious, well-balanced meals and flexible dining.
• Be able to lift up to 35lbs.
• Follow meal plans per physicians orders and nutritional guidelines, and lead other team members in a resident-centered dining experience.
• Support and embrace resident-centered social culture and deliver high-quality service to residents, visitors, and team members.
