Job summary

Schlegel Villages invites applications for a Cook I at The Village of Wentworth Heights. The role is part-time and on-site, with a starting rate of $24.87 per hour under the collective agreement. A Vulnerable Sector Check and TB screening are required before starting.

Candidates should be Chef-trained or hold a Culinary Management Diploma, possess a food safety certificate, and be able to lift up to 35lbs. Equity, diversity and inclusion are core to our culture, and accommodations are available

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary needs and recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with care teams to ensure timely meal service.
• Assist with menu planning and portion control.
• Follow policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements.

The Village of Wentworth Heights has an exciting opportunity for a Cook Ito join their team.

The hiring rate for this role is $24.87 per collective agreement/employee association agreement.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

• Be a graduate of Chef Training or Culinary Management Diploma from an accredited college
• Possess a food safety certification
• Be able to lift up to 35lbs
