Job summary

The Village at St. Clair, part of Schlegel Villages, invites applications for a Temporary Food Service Manager to lead a large on-site kitchen in Windsor, Ontario.

The role covers food preparation, purchasing, budgeting and staff leadership for a unionized team, with a start date of November 4, 2026 and temporary status through March 2027. This position requires knowledge of Ontario regulations and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in large quantity food preparation and budgeting/financial planning.
• Experience leading a large food services team in a unionized environment.
• Familiarity with Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA, LTC facility regulations and OH&S Act.
• Active CSNM membership is an asset.

Responsibilities

The Village at St. Clairhas an exciting opportunity for a Temporary Food Service Managerto join their team.

• Status:Temporary Food Service Manager until March 2027
  Location:1800 Talbot Road , Windsor ON
  Expected Start Date: November 4, 2026

The expected hiring range for this position is $ 59,740 to $ 63,300. This role falls within a broader internal salary band.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

To be successful as our new Food Services Manager, you will:

• Has proven experience in large quantity food preparation and food purchasing, including financial planning
• Have experience leading and inspiring a large food services team in a unionized environment
• Be familiar with Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA, Ontario Long Term Care Facility Program manual, Long Term Care Homes Act, and OH&S Act
• Be an active membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.)

As a new Food Services Manager, you will:

• Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of hospitality services to our residents.
• Our Food Services Managers at Schlegel Villages lead and support the food service team with hands-on training, coaching and leadership while maintaining the food services department to exceed Public Health and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards.
• Our Food Service Managers ensure that diet and nutritional requirements are met and regular assessments are completed. They plan and support catering functions in the Village, create an enhanced dining experience for our residents and additionally manages purchasing, purchasing, department schedules and payroll duties.
