Job summary

Schlegel Villages is seeking an Assistant Food Services Manager at our Ottawa location. You will lead the food services team, plan menus, manage purchasing and budgeting, and ensure high-quality meals for residents with a focus on safety and resident-centered care.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and experience in large-scale food preparation. On-site position with full-time hours, starting Dec 2026–Jan 2027, with competitive salary and benefits.

The Village of Riverbank Terrace has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Food Service Managerto join their team.

Status: Permanent Full-Time
Location: 100 Smyth Road, K1H 0A7, Ottawa, ON
Expected Start Date: Dec 2026 - Jan 2027

The expected hiring range for this position is $48,410 to $52,300. This role falls within a broader internal salary band, with growth opportunities based on demonstrated performance.

Successful candidates will be required to provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and a Tuberculosis (TB) screening test before starting.

As our new Assistant Food Services Manager, you will:

• Be a member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) and maintain active membership.
• Have experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing.
• Demonstrate a creative flare for menu planning, preparation and presentation.
• Have strong leadership skills and proven ability to supervise and secure the co[1]operation of the food services team.
• Work with and communicate effectively with the older adult population as well as their family and/or caregivers.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills and an effective team player who works well with others.
• Be knowledgeable in the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, CCHSA/ORCA, Ontario Long-Term Care Facility Program manual and OH&S Act.
• Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of service to our residents, visitors, and team members through comprehensive and effective support.
