Golden Life's Ocean Front Village in Courtenay, BC, is seeking a dedicated Cook for casual-on-call shifts, with day and evening schedules (6:30–13:30 and 1:30–19:00). The role emphasizes high-quality service within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake desserts and soups.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe and efficient; follow safe food handling procedures.
• Maintain and rotate stock; date and contain food.
• Coordinate meal service and equipment, workspace, and functions with colleagues.
• Communicate with dishwashers and servers regarding cleanup.
• Chat briefly with guests to ascertain satisfaction with food and service.
• Complete records such as inventory, orders, and budgeting measures.

What You Bring

• Completion of secondary school.
• Completion of college program in cooking. Several years of related, proven cooking experience may also be considered.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player, and excellent problem solving skills.
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
