Job summary

Golden Life is seeking a Cook for Crest View Village in Creston, BC. This casual / on call kitchen role supports food service operations with day and evening shifts, focusing on high quality cooking for residents.

Qualifications

• Completion of secondary school.
• College program in cooking is required or highly considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake desserts and soups.
• Ensure the kitchen is clean, safe and efficient, with staff following safe food handling procedures.
• Date and rotate stock to maintain freshness.
• Coordinate meal service and equipment, workspace, and functions with colleagues.
• Communicate with dishwashers and servers regarding cleanup.
• Engage with guests to gauge satisfaction with food and service.
• Complete records for inventory, orders, budgets and costing measures.

What You Bring

• Completion of secondary school.
• Completion of college program in cooking. Several years of related, proven cooking experience may also be considered.
• Food Safe Certification.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, a team player, and excellent problem solving skills.
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
• A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
