The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking a Casual, On-Call Kitchen Cook to prepare nutritious meals in a ministry setting. You will work shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays while following food safety guidelines.

SALARY : Per Collective Agreement TERMS : Casual, On-Call (0-37.5 hours/week) DAYS & TIME : Applicants must be available to work for a variety of shifts, including day, evening, overnight, weekend and statutory holidays
The incumbent’s work environment is typically in a kitchen in a ministry unit/social services facility. The incumbent will work under the following disagreeable conditions:
The job incumbent may be exposed to the risk of moderate to sever injury or illness due to:
The performance of the job requires frequent amount of standing manipulating foods and moderate amounts of lifting, cutting, chopping, carrying supplies and walking. The incumbent is required to lift up to 50 pounds. The performance of the job requires frequent attention to the preparation of food, reading recipes, adhering to safety procedures and regulations and occasionally ordering supplies. Ability and willingness to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion (i.e., The Salvation Army Abuse Registry) and provide an original copy of a Background Check screening.
The target hiring range for this position is $23.43 to $23.68 with a maximum of $23.93. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
