Job description
Overview

The Cafeteria Attendant is responsible for serving and maintaining service of the cafeteria food in a customer service-oriented manner. The role will organize and set up the equipment and workstation within the cafeteria, while following Food Safe regulations. The Cafeteria Attendant will be responsible for cooking and warming up healthy meals and presenting them in timely fashion.

Responsibilities
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service to coworkers in the cafeteria
  • Handle and serve food in a timely and courteous manner
  • Cook and present meals according to all food regulations
  • Maintain a clean and welcoming appearance of all equipment, counters, coolers and floors
  • Always monitor food and equipment temperatures
  • Receive, stock and rotate incoming and outgoing inventory
  • Adhere to established schedule for meal and rest periods
  • Control inventory and purchase from approved food suppliers
  • Always follow established sanitation procedures
Qualifications
  • Minimum two years’ experience working in catering or food services
  • Working experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • Current certification in Food Safe Level 1
  • Lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive bending/squatting
  • Clear communicator, proactive team player, hospitality-focused, problem solver
  • Working knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing foods on a large scale
  • Ability to use and care for food preparation equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members and coworkers
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service skills
