Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Cook for our Long-Term Care residence in Toronto. You will ensure meals are prepared and served on time while keeping work areas safe and sanitary.

You will direct Food Services Workers and may assume responsibility for day-to-day operations of the department as required. The role requires prior cook experience (preferably supervisory), a current Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a high school diploma or equivalent in quality food production.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a cook, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Must have a diploma/certificate in quality food preparation and production.
• Minimum of public-school education; high school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals on time and maintain clean, sanitary work areas.
• Direct Food Services Workers in duties and operate the Food Services Department as required.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and escalate to supervisor when needed.
