Job summary

Job description

Hotel Arts is currently looking for a Cook 3 in our Banquets Kitchen at Hotel Arts. We are seeking someone who will consistently provide quality and production daily in an organized and effective manner. This cook will primarily work alongside the Banquet Sous Chef to provide excellent culinary service during banquets and events.

The successful applicant will possess the following traits:

  • High interest in food and a keen interest in the culinary arts
  • Ability to maintain food quality and presentation standards within a consistency-based framework
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team effectively
  • Flexibility towards their environment
  • Ensure all menu items are prepared efficiently to standard and customer requirements
  • Complete mis en place in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of all food products
  • Follow all provincial health regulations and food handling techniques
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Be aware of food cost, portion control, and waste management

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in a similar position
  • Journeyman or working towards Red Seal certification
  • Availability for dinner/evening shifts
  • Flexible weekly schedule
