Job summary

SSP Canada operates multiple restaurants inside the Toronto Pearson airport. Our Line Cooks receive food orders, prepare dishes for guests, and set up the kitchen so all products and tools are accessible during shifts. Join our team to experience a unique work environment at SSP America.

This position is located in a secure airport environment requiring Transport Canada security clearance. Candidates must be legally able to work in Canada and meet accommodation needs if necessary.

Qualifications

• One year minimum experience working in food service environment.
• High school diploma, preferred.
• Verbal and written communication is essential.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
• Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Follows the recipes, checks portions, garnishes and presents dishes.
• Handle, store and rotate stored products properly.
• Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of equipment.
• Completes opening / closing procedures.
• Keeps utensils, clean workspace and storage areas organized and sanitized.
• Performs hygiene cleaning as indicated to meet standards.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Line Cook withSSP Canada:

• Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and present the dishes ordered.
• Handle, store and rotate the stored products properly.
• Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of assigned equipment and machines.
• Completes opening / closing procedures
• Put all the utensils used during the shift in its place, clean and tidy up its work place as well as the storage areas (includes refrigerators, freezers), empty, clean and store the bins.
• Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager in order to meet hygiene standards.

Skills and Other Requirements
