Job summary

SSP Canada is seeking a Line Cook to join our team at the Toronto Pearson airport location. You will receive orders, prep dishes, and set up the kitchen so every item and tool is ready for service.

This part-time role requires at least one year in food service, ability to read and communicate in English, and willingness to work in a secure airport environment with required clearances. Competitive benefits and staff parking are provided.

Our Line Cooks have the important role of receiving food orders, preparing delicious dishes for our guests, properly setting up the kitchen so every Expert has the product and tools easily accessible during their shift. Here are a few things you can expect as a Line Cook with SSP Canada:

• Follows the recipes, checks the portion of the recipes, the garnishes and present the dishes ordered.
• Handle, store and rotate the stored products properly.
• Ensures regular maintenance, cleaning and proper functioning of assigned equipment and machines.
• Completes opening / closing procedures
• Put all the utensils used during the shift in its place, clean and tidy up its work place as well as the storage areas (includes refrigerators, freezers), empty, clean and store the bins.
• Practice general and specific cleanings using the appropriate products as indicated by the manager in order to meet hygiene standards.

• Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language
• Food handlers permit
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long period of time.
• Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.
