What you’ll do :

  • Prepare and cook meals with consistent standards of food quality and customer satisfaction
  • Consistently offer professional, friendly, and proactive guest service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Prepare and cook menu items to banquet standards and according to banquet event orders (BEOs)
  • Ensure consistent quality and attractive presentation for weddings and special functions
  • Assist with event plating and service coordination to guarantee smooth and timely execution
  • Adhere to all sanitation and food safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and equipment before, during, and after events
  • Ensure proper food storage, handling, and labeling procedures are followed
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly to kitchen leadership
  • Support mise en place duties with efficiency and attention to detail
  • Adapt quickly to last-minute changes or special dietary requests
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
  • Actively participate in training of culinary skills to junior colleagues and apprentices
  • Ensure station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
  • Act as a role model to junior colleagues by maintaining a professional work ethic and displaying sound cooking skills
  • Motivate and lead to ensure high team morale

Who you are :

  • 2+ years of banquet or high-volume event cooking experience
  • Pastry experience is an asset
  • Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-pressure environment
  • Food Safe Level 1 certification or ability to obtain upon hiring
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of commercial kitchen operations
  • Ability to take direction, stay focused, and work well under pressure

Considerations :

  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • While performing duties, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods
  • Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool
