Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-3 years experience as a cook in hospitality or healthcare settings.

  • Ability to read and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community, ensuring all meals meet Atria Retirement’s standards.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and/or Executive Director to ensure resident satisfaction with food and dining programs.
  • Maintain kitchen and food storage areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the kitchen.
  • Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
  • Ensure all food is received, stored, and prepared according to company standards.
  • Estimate daily or weekly food and supply needs and communicate with the kitchen leadership.
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menus.
  • Document food temperatures prior to service and monitor refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
  • Ensure snacks and beverages are available for residents at all times.
  • Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied regularly.
  • Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
  • Follow standard food safety practices.
  • Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals preparation and execution.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment in a clean, sanitary manner.
  • Attend pre-meal briefings in the kitchen before service.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Effective communication skills in English with employees and residents.
