Job summary

Clear Destination Inc. is seeking a Cook to contribute to hotel dining operations with food prep, service, and culinary support across breakfast, lunch and dinner shifts. You will help maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

This role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and the ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. The team emphasizes accountability and a positive work atmosphere while delivering service excellence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position.
  • High school diploma; commitment to obtaining Inter-Provincial Trade Qualifications.
  • Certifications required: Food Safe Level I, WHMIS.
  • Able to meet physical demands: stand long periods, lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Strong English communication and superior customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Work across shifts and stations to meet restaurant needs.
  • Ensure food preparation and service delivery standards are consistently achieved.
  • Maintain quality, quantity and presentation per Coast Hotels standards.
  • Manage mise en place requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation.
  • Prepare, cook and present food per menu descriptions and build sheets.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Secure and control food stocks to minimize waste.
  • Direct and assist junior culinary Ambassadors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Culinary leadership.

Job description

The Cook role will contribute to the overall success of the hotel by assisting in food preparation, providing superior customer service and specialized services for the culinary department. This role is responsible for maintaining a positive work environment and high internal/external customer service standards. We have both a morning shift which covers breakfast and an afternoon/evening shift that covers lunch and dinner. The Cook position requires availability across all days of the week.

Responsibilities:
  • Works a variety of shifts & stations
  • Ensures food preparation and service delivery standards are consistently achieved and maintained
  • Ensures quality, quantity and presentation of all food prepared, meeting the Coast Hotels standards for freshness, appearance and consistency
  • Ensures correct daily requisitioning, receiving, storage and rotation of “mise en place”
  • Prepares, cooks and presents food as outlined in the menu descriptions, build sheets, photos, and / or Server’s checks
  • Is committed to working safely, including adherence to food safety regulations, hygiene and cleanliness
  • Ensures the security and control of all food stocks used in the Kitchen to ensure minimum food wastage
  • Directs and assists junior culinary Ambassadors
  • Carries out other duties as assigned by the Culinary leadership team
Skills/Knowledge/Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar position
  • Successful completion of high school, with a commitment to obtaining the Inter-Provincial Trade Qualifications
  • The following certifications are required: Food Safe Level I, WHMIS
  • Hepatitis A vaccination recommended
  • Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment
  • Demonstrated superior customer service philosophy
  • Superior communication skills in the English language
  • Able to meet physical demands of the position, including standing for long period of time, lifting up to 30 lbs, and bending

  • Able to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends and holidays
