Momo Sushi Victoria is looking for 1 Cook.

Job Title: Cook

Wage: $20.19 per hour

Hours: 40 hours per week

Term: Full-time, Permanent

Vacation: 4% Vacation pay (or 10 days) per year

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Japanese dishes such as donburi, noodles, tempura, teriyaki, and other menu offerings
• Wash, cut, and prepare vegetables, meats, and seafood
• Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistency
• Operate grills, fryers, rice cookers, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist in developing new menu items or seasonal specials as required
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
• Follow proper procedures for handling ingredients and food items
• Ensure all equipment, utensils, and surfaces are cleaned and sanitized regularly
• Monitor ingredient freshness and discard items that do not meet quality standards
• Label and store ingredients properly to minimize waste and maintain freshness
• Support daily prep tasks to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Work closely with sushi chef, cooks and kitchen staff to ensure timely service

Requirements

• Completion of secondary school
• At least 3 years of experience in commercial food preparation, including experience in a Japanese culinary environment
