Job summary

Kids & Company is seeking a part-time cook for a 7-week temporary contract at our childcare locations. The role involves preparing meals and snacks for children, with strict adherence to health and safety standards, and coordination with Head Office on weekly food orders.

The ideal candidate holds a valid Food Handler Certification, 2–4 years cooking experience (childcare/education sector a plus), a clean driver’s license, and a clear criminal background check.

Qualifications

• Current Food Handler Certification.
• 2–4 years of experience as a Cook, Sous Chef, or Chef.
• Experience in childcare, school, healthcare, or long-term care environment is an asset.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Clear Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

About the Position

Position Type: Part-Time, Temporary Contract (7 Weeks)
Schedule: 6 Hours Per Day

Reporting to the Centre Director, this role is an integral member of the Kids & Company team, supporting the overall management of daily kitchen operations. The position is responsible for all food preparation and cooking while consistently applying Kids & Company standards to help achieve our mission.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cook to contribute to a fast-paced childcare environment while covering a temporary leave. This part-time position is scheduled for 6 hours per day over a 7-week contract period .
