We are currently seeking a Automation Technician responsible for PLC, robotic, and HMI programming, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintaining backup programming and parameters for all automation devices.

This is a full-time, permanent position for 37.5 hours per week, shift: Day (7:00 am – 3:00 pm).

Key Responsibilities:

1. Implement and execute reliable backup systems for all automation programs and parameters.
2. Diagnose and resolve breakdowns, communicating effectively with management and team members.
3. Develop and document maintenance procedures and training programs.
4. Participate in technical projects as a team member.
5. Calibrate automation devices and control instruments.
6. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to implement solutions for equipment and process issues.
7. Stay current with technical knowledge by attending training sessions and seminars.
8. Follow all safety regulations, including Arc Flash protection and PPE use.

Recipe for Success:

1. Post-secondary diploma or associate degree in Industrial Automation or related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of experience with manufacturing systems, PLC control systems, and OPC interfaces preferred.
3. Experience with Industrial Network Protocols (Device Net, Ethernet IP, Modbus TCP, HART).
4. 442A Industrial or 309A Construction and Maintenance Electrical License (licensed or apprentice).
5. Strong knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron).
6. Experience with servo motor controls.
7. Knowledge of network installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting.
8. Intermediate IEC programming skills (PLC and HMI).
9. Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
10. Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
11. Experience in manufacturing environment is an asset.
12. High level of personal and ethical responsibility.
